Laurent Ferrier, Grand Sport Tourbillon
Laurent Ferrier may not be a household name, but among collectors it is regarded as one of the finest low volume watchmakers in Switzerland. The brand’s founder spent 37 years at Patek Philippe, working on some of the manufacture’s most celebrated timepieces before eventually leading its creation department. In 2009 he left to establish his own brand, focused on crafting watches defined by balance, harmony and exceptional finishing. Producing only around 250 pieces each year, Laurent Ferrier quickly earned recognition, with its very first watch, the Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral, winning the GPHG award for Best Men’s Watch in 2010.
A decade later the brand introduced the Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown, a limited series of just 24 numbered pieces. Its case takes inspiration from the flowing lines of a beautifully sculpted sports car, blending smooth curves with sharp, modern detailing. Inside sits the LF619.01 tourbillon calibre, an entirely in house movement developed, assembled and adjusted by Laurent Ferrier’s team.
The movement features a tourbillon based on the principle first introduced by Abraham Louis Breguet in 1801, enhanced here with a double balance spring. This construction keeps the balance perfectly centred on its axis while compensating for the effects of gravity, improving stability and precision. The result is a watch that reflects the very highest level of contemporary independent watchmaking.
This 2024 example is in brand new condition, with no signs of wear or polishing. The watch comes as a complete set with the 2024 dated warranty card, the original box and accessories.
We welcome viewings at our Knightsbridge showroom.
