The 5712 model line was originally released in 2006 the same year as the 5711, in celebration of the 30 year anniversary of the Gerald genta designed 3700 nautilus in 1976. While the 5712R has been produced in the past, no version has ever existed on a rose gold bracelet apart from a piece unique done by Patek Philippe, new to the 5712 line, the 5712/1R features a chocolate brown dial.
This contrasts the rose gold case beautifully and adds warmth and richness to the watch overall. The colour combination enhances the quirky layout of the 5712, adding a layer of depth and intrigue that makes this release standout. The overall 5712 design remains unchanged, the proportions, format and movement identical to its steal cousin.
The 40mm case and 8 mm thickness ensure a flat profile across the wrist, and the integrated bracelet uses pateks newer expanding clasp system, the same functions including a power reserve indicator, moonphase, date and subsidiary seconds and the watch is still powered by the Caliber 240 which is stamped with Patek’s in-house seal.
